Eat, Drink, and Be Married!

Almost twenty-two years ago an outgoing and bubbly little girl pushed me into the georgetown pool a few days before first grade was starting. After the initial shock, I looked up to see Mary Pat who was screaming because we were going to be in the same class. Who would have known that we would have turned into friends that were as close as two sisters.

We have experienced so much together... from our days as mustangs and our endless summers at the pool, to many fabulous coz n' cots parties and our grown up party days in the windy city as roommates! I was so happy to share in another big moment with Mary Pat- her bachelorette weekend in Chicago!

So... what is a Coz 'n' Cots party? Once upon time five young girls decided to make up a prestigious tea party that only they and the hottest celebrities could attend.... (i.e. Michael Jackson- of course that's who you were thinking about). During these parties, they wore their finest dress-up clothes, drank "tea" (pop or hot cocoa ), and ate delicious tea cakes (whatever Diana and Anne could find in the kitchen for them). They also used their fancy talk and mannerisms.
And when the Chmiels moved away from the Dockhams- the Coz 'n' Cots became a memorable place where they could always meet up and see one another, talk about the past, and see mj.

And here is our most grown-up party yet in Chicago-

Mother's Day

We had a beautiful Mother's Day afternoon with my family. It was nice to spoil the beautiful mothers in our family. Sophie, Ayla, and Christian reminded us all that you don't need much to have a fun afternoon outside- a few books, a blanket, bubbles, balls, space to run, and lots of people who love you!

Signs of Spring....

It's amazing how spring can make everything feel new again and how it inspires a new after work and weekend routine. It is certainly welcomed around our house! We have already been outside planting flowers, pulling weeds, eating dinner on the deck, pulling weeds, and taking after dinner walks in the state park. Oh yea... it has also inspired the after dinner ice cream treat!
Here are some of the signs of spring around our house-

I Heart Faces: Motherhood

This week's competition theme over at I Heart Faces is motherhood. My sister Jennie is a wonderful mother and her "guys" are lucky to have her :) She has had quite a year.... but she has been a wonderful mommy.

I Heart Faces: Soft & Sweet

This week over at I Heart Faces, the competition is soft and sweet. Here is my submission.

I took this picture of my niece through the window of her new playhouse on her second birthday. She was so happy... she looked like she couldn't believe it! She is truly soft and sweet.
